Elizabeth, Countess Temple of Stowe was the wife of Grenville, the 8th Earl and a key member of the Alresford Society for many years, eventually becoming our President. Even after he retired from this role, he and Elizabeth were always keen to have news of what was happening locally, so we kept in touch and I saw them both at The Cottage on a number of occasions: both lovely, charming people.
